Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine

The Institute’s sports medicine physicians use advanced surgical techniques to treat the full spectrum of soft tissue and bone injuries of the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip –– whether those injuries occur on the athletic field, in the workplace or at home. More conservative, nonsurgical therapies are used to treat acute injuries such as sprains, muscle strains, torn ligaments or tendons, chronic muscle pain and arthritis. After surgery or other treatment, continuing care from on-site physical therapists and athletic trainers helps return patients to a pain-free lifestyle.

Primary Care Sports Medicine

Primary Care Sports Medicine

While the Institute is noted for surgical excellence, the fact is that most orthopedic conditions and injuries do not require surgical intervention. Injuries such as sprains, muscle tears, torn ligaments or tendons, foot or hand fractures, chronic joint or muscle pain and arthritis are usually best treated in a primary care setting.

The Institute’s primary care sports medicine physicians evaluate and diagnose acute, chronic and overuse injuries and develop individualized treatment plans utilizing conservative methods.
